The newer tendencies of research, related with the leaching of precious metals, involves the use of non toxic reagents that allows the leaching of a mineral of sedimentary origin using the system S2 - O3 2- - O2. Prior to thisprocess, the mineral was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) in conjunction with Energy Dispersive Spectrometry of X – rays (EDS), X- ray mapping. Finally, the chemical composition was executed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP). According to the results obtained, it was possible to determine that the mineral studied has adequate contents of gold, palladium, silver, and platinum. And after the leaching process, it could be possible to leach the gold and palladium that it contains, getting recoveries of 90% and 85 %, respectively. In the case of silver, a redissolution or precipitation could occur during the first minutes of reaction

This title, suggestive of the impacts during the Covid 19 situation in the world, and which have unfortunately been very critical in Colombia, allows us to assume the obligatory overcoming of social, political, and economic tensions; but above all scientific and technological. Initially, this supposes the existence of a capacity of Colombian society to recover its initial state after the disturbance to which it was subjected by the catastrophic pandemic has ceased, and to overcome that previous state of affairs since it was found -and still is find - many local problems poorly resolved, moderately resolved, and many unresolved: that is, an existing social resilience test will have to be redesigned and strengthened - product of the prolonged Colombian social conflict partially overcome by a successful peace process - from local technoscience; As Markus Brunnermeier - German economist and professor of economics at Princeton University - indicates in his book The Resilient Society...The question is not to foresee everything but to be able to react...learn to recover quickly.Bogot

The Project of Water Supply for the Middle Basin of Tempisque River and Coastal Communities (PAACUME) as known in Spanish, aims to provide water for various uses. This requires the construction of highly complex structures, which is why the (PAACUME) technical direction requires consultancy regarding the construction phase of these structures. Within the framework proposed, this project intends to provide the necessary tools for planning, programming, organization, and work control for particularly the powerhouse and the dam site. For these 4 work axes were defined: Information analysis, model creation, work structure design, and the creation of the work control proposal. Two tools were developed, one in Revit and another one in Navisworks. As a product of the implementation of these tools and the work structure, materials were estimated, manpower was estimated, simulations were created, and the duration of the powerhouse was determined to be 83 days and for the dam site 2 years (735 days). Finally, control strategies linked with the executed models were developed. Within the conclusions of this work, the most outstanding are the feasibility of BIM for the management and design of hydraulic infrastructure works, and in the same fashion, the complexity derived from its implementation. This given the investment in resources of areas such as the introduction of the tools, training, adaptation processes, among others

Integration of Sentiment Analysis of Social Media in the Strategic Planning Process to Generate the Balanced Scorecard

Strategic planning (SP) requires attention and constant updating and is a crucial process for guaranteeing the efficient performance of companies. This article proposes a novel approach applied in a case study whereby a balanced scorecard (BSC) was generated that integrated sentiment analysis (SA) of social media (SM) and took advantage of the valuable knowledge of these sources. In this study, opinions were consolidated in the main dataset to incorporate sentiments regarding the strategic part of a restaurant in a tourist city. The proposed methodology began with the selection of the company. Information was then acquired to apply pre-processing, processing, evaluation, and validation that is capitalized in a BSC to support strategic decision-making. Python support was used in the model and comprised lexicon and machine learning approaches for the SA. The significant knowledge in the comments was automatically oriented toward the key performance indicators (KPIs) and perspectives of a BSC that were previously determined by a group of opinion leaders of the company. The methods, techniques, and algorithms of SA and SP showed that unstructured textual information can be processed and capitalized efficiently for optimal management and decision-making. The results revealed an improvement (reduced effort and time) to produce a more robust and comprehensive BSC with the support and validation of experts. Moreover, new resources and approaches were developed to implement more efficient SP. The model was based on the efficient coupling of both fields of study

A service design process based on the business model CANVAS and the C-K theory

Services are fundamental to any economy. They are responsible for most of the employment and collaborate with a substantial proportion of the Gross Domestic Product. Despite its importance, the tools and methodologies for service design in Latin America have a slow evolution. One of the reasons that explain this phenomenon is the lack of practical tools and methods to take into account the complexity of the service and the intrinsic dynamism of the design process. Another limitation of the adoption of new service design tools is a nontechnical view of the design process, situation that puts the common sense as the first resource for service design. Hence, the lack of a service design methodology avoids the learning process, the reproducibility of successful service models in a different context, and the assimilation of new design techniques. Consequently, this chapter proposes a framework to guide the conceptual design or redesign of services through the combination of the Business Model CANVAS with the C-K theory. The Business Model CANVAS is a graphical tool to represent, as simple as possible, the interaction of different elements to capture and deliver value to the market. On the other hand, the C-K theory proposes a graphical tool where Concepts (C) and Knowledge (K) interact dynamically to shape a process, without increasing complexity. The integration offers a design framework useful to deal with the challenging context of service development. A case study illustrates this practical approach

Impact of uterine manipulator on oncological outcome in endometrial cancer surgery.

There are limited data available to indicate whether oncological outcomes might be influenced by the uterine manipulator, which is used at the time of hysterectomy for minimally invasive surgery in patients with endometrial cancer. The current evidence derives from retrospective studies with limited sample sizes. Without substantial evidence to support its use, surgeons are required to make decisions about its use based only on their personal choice and surgical experience. To evaluate the use of the uterine manipulator on oncological outcomes after minimally invasive surgery, for apparent early-stage endometrial cancer. We performed a retrospective multicentric study to assess the oncological safety of uterine manipulator use in patients with apparent early-stage endometrial cancer, treated with minimally invasive surgery. The type of manipulator, surgical staging, histology, lymphovascular space invasion, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage, adjuvant treatment, recurrence, and pattern of recurrence were evaluated. The primary objective was to determine the relapse rate. The secondary objective was to determine recurrence-free survival, overall survival, and the pattern of recurrence. A total of 2661 women from 15 centers were included; 1756 patients underwent hysterectomy with a uterine manipulator and 905 without it. Both groups were balanced with respect to histology, tumor grade, myometrial invasion, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage, and adjuvant therapy. The rate of recurrence was 11.69% in the uterine manipulator group and 7.4% in the no-manipulator group (P In this study, the use of a uterine manipulator was associated with a worse oncological outcome in patients with uterus-confined endometrial cancer (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics I-II) who underwent minimally invasive surgery. Prospective trials are essential to confirm these results
